Molecular Weight
Approximately 10.1 kDa, a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 93 amino acids.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in 2 × PBS, pH 7.4.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1 % BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20 C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Background
CXCL5 is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is produced following stimulation of cells with the inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1 or tumor necrosis factor-alpha. The expression of CXCL5 has also been observed in eosinophils, and can be inhibited with the type II interferon IFN-γ. Recombinant rat CXCL5 contains 93 amino acids which is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain. Rat CXCL5 shares 57% amino acid sequence identity with human CXCL5.
